ERP integration checklist for industrial companies
When production, warehouse and dispatch teams maintain the same information in separate files, another application alone may not solve the problem. Define which data must move between the existing ERP and the new software, in which direction, and under which rules. This checklist helps industrial companies in Kocaeli, elsewhere in Türkiye and abroad turn a broad integration request into a clear project scope.
Map one workflow before selecting features
Follow a real order from creation to completion. Identify who enters it, when stock changes and who approves dispatch. Mark manual entries and handovers where work waits. Choose an initial workflow and record the delay or error you want to reduce. This gives the first release an outcome that can be assessed.
Assign a source of truth to each data type
List the main source for customers, products, warehouses, orders and stock. Define how codes map between systems, who may update a record and which value wins when two updates conflict. Review required fields, date formats, currencies and deleted records using representative test data.
Verify the ERP connection in a test environment
The ERP version, available APIs, licensing and test access affect scope. An API listed in documentation may not support every required operation. Demonstrate reading and creating an order before committing to a design. Assess vendor supported integration methods before deciding to write directly to a live database.
Design for outages and repeated requests
Specify what happens when the network or ERP becomes unavailable. Identify which jobs should retry, who sees failed records and how that person is notified. A repeated order submission must not create a duplicate. If field work needs offline access, include synchronization and conflict handling in the acceptance scenarios.
Define access and acceptance criteria together
Production, sales, warehouse and management staff may need different access. Plan individual accounts and an audit trail. Test cancellations, returns, insufficient stock, invalid customer codes and duplicate submissions alongside the normal order flow. Write expected results before testing; a working screen alone does not prove the integration is correct.
Agree on rollout and ongoing responsibility
Identify the owner of backups, rollback, initial migration and the period when old and new systems run together. Clarify who monitors failures and repeats tests after an ERP upgrade. To request a comparable proposal, share your current systems, a sample workflow, user roles and the intended first release.
